Every cloud has a silver lining, right?
When my neighbor Susan moved to Texas seven years ago, it was a more than just a little heartbreaking. It was…well…annoying.
I mean after all, we had just gotten to the point in our budding friendship where an enthusiastic bond over gardening, decorating, and one-liners had been established. You know how it is when you find a kindred spirit that gets worked up over the glories of bling-tastic chandeliers or happily enables you in buying a ridiculously-priced-but-perfect-linen-bed-skirt that you need? It was that kind of decorating love match. Plus, she always had a batch of margarita slush in the freezer. But the call of Wide Open Spaces (and a job) was cooing in her husband’s ear, so off they went.
And here’s where the silver lining kicks in.
